either short or not too long,
that you can relate to or easily imagine.
Speaking English…
There's no secret.
It really is all about
practice and patience.

Living in the Mind of an Overthinker 2
ーーーーー
We replay conversations,
analyzing every word, every expression,
looking for something we missed.
It’s exhausting,
trying to figure out what went wrong,
even when nothing did.
The smallest detail can send us
into a spiral of doubt and self-blame.
And then there’s the fear,
fear of being too much,
fear of losing someone,
fear of things falling apart.
It follows us everywhere,
whispering that something is wrong
even when it isn’t.
This fear pushes us
to question everything and everyone around us.
And it’s painful,
more than anyone realizes.

ーーーーー
Living in the Mind of an Overthinker 1
ーーーーー
Being an overthinker feels like
carrying a weight no one else can see.
It’s not just thoughts ,
it’s the endless stream of “what ifs”
that never quiet down.
Trusting people isn’t easy
when your mind is always searching for hidden meanings.
A delayed reply, a quick glance,
or a shift in someone’s tone,
it can all feel like the beginning of something going wrong.
And once a thought takes hold,
it spirals, growing into a story
that consumes you.
Even when nothing has happened,
we find ourselves preparing for the worst.
The mind starts creating scenarios,
stories of betrayal, rejection, or failure,
that feel so real,
they hurt just the same.
We start believing in these imagined outcomes,
convincing ourselves that they’re true.

[I Had to Help Myself First]
I lived so many years thinking I knew what addiction was
because I had seen it in those I loved for so long.
I thought I could help my loved ones who struggled.
I thought I could take away their pain.
Instead, I let addiction consume me
until I felt that my own life was spinning out of control.
I didn’t recognize myself anymore.
I didn’t like the person I’d become.
I’d let addiction steal my life
as it had stolen theirs.
I knew I needed help,
but didn’t know how to get it.
I began going to family support groups
and educating myself about addiction.
I went to as many meetings as I could.
I kept going back, no matter how I felt that day.
I forced myself to do what I had been expecting of others.
If I was not willing to get help
then how could I expect someone incapable
of rationally evaluating their life to get help?
ーーーーー
It’s not fair to expect it from someone
who’s really lost in their addiction.
It didn’t make sense to keep pushing others to change
when I wasn’t changing anything in my own life.
If I’m struggling with this,
it’s so much tougher for someone
who’s not thinking clearly.
How could I expect someone who couldn't even think straight to do it?
ーーーーー
If I didn’t go to meetings
then how could I expect my loved ones to attend meetings?
Throughout this process,
I have met so many people
who felt the same pain I had.
I also met individuals
who had survived addiction
and were living in long-term recovery.

What Something You Have Accepted As An Introvert?
ーーーーー
Question
We all go through life and learn things.
I want to know, as an introvert,
what's something you have accepted over time about people, relationships, and life in general,
and how your life changed after you accepted that fact?
For me, it was the idea that I'd die alone, and I should be comfortable with this fact.

Suddenly some websites
are being flagged as "not secure"
when I know they are.
Happening in Edge and Chrome.
ーーーーー
So I've been using
these websites
for a long time now,
and I know for a fact
that they are secure.
They are sites that I regularly use for work.
No matter the network, and no matter the browser,
I keep getting the same error page.
In Chrome, the error message is,
"This site can't be reached.
*website* unexpectedly closed the connection."
and in the top left corner of the page
it says, "Your connection to this site is not secure."
In the past, I've been able to bypass this by choosing to proceed anyway,
but I can't anymore.
I am also able to access these websites on my cell phone
or on my coworker's computers using the same networks.
I've tried resetting the browser settings, resetting my network settings,
changing my DNS, clearing cache,
I've uninstalled and reinstalled Chrome,
I've checked for Windows updates,
and I've run network diagnostics.
I'm completely out of ideas.

Amie Thompson | Elite Swimmer | Engineering Student
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QP6bv...
Our routines are really hard,
and before I go into it, I say to myself:
Be brave.
Be brave enough to be tired and exhausted, and keep pushing.
Don't be scared to get halfway through the routine and be dead.
You've got to have the strength, and flexibility, and speed, and the breath control.
There's just so many aspects, it's so vast.
You're never, ever, ever bored.
And then also, I can't deny the great friendships that you make.
Working in a team, we're all on that same page.
When our energies all come together — that's when we have an amazing swim.
And you can feel it as you swim.
You can feel the person next to you is doing and thinking the exact same thing.
You get so close, and you don't find that closeness anywhere else, really.
I've completed my first year almost, and I've started mining engineering.
This year I have actually taken leave of absence — just because it's way too much.
But in previous years, I found it very important to have that extra thing.
So that I can leave training and not think about it.
Get away, and then I can come back even more focused.
It's been so easy to ask lecturers for extensions or extra help.
And if I'm away, if I can do an exam at a later date or an earlier date — everyone is so accepting and helpful.
It's so wonderful to feel supported by my university.

3 Reasons to give yourself a well-earned day off.
This week, I forced myself to TAKE A BREAK.
With a friend, in nature, with healthy food.
Why did I wait so long????
When I realized that it had been several days
that I hadn't stepped out of the house--
That was the clincher.
My best friend was away for a few weeks,
and we desperately needed to catch up and reconnect.
I had to give myself a day off.
Like it or not.
The effects were instant.
Once I stepped away
from the chaos of business and life,
I immediately began to feel more relaxed,
breathe a little deeper,
my senses were re-awakened
to the beauty of the world around us.
I came home feeling more optimistic,
creative and energetic.
It was a short jaunt of a few hours.
But the benefits were powerful.
Highly recommended.

The river doesn’t apologize for changing[4/4]
*****
No, it's not about giving up,
it's about trusting that you are allowed to grow.
That it's okay to let go of people,
dreams, or versions of yourself that no longer fit.
That you don't have to break yourself
trying to stay the same
when life is asking you to change.
Here's the truth:
life isn't a straight line.
It's a river.
Messy, unpredictable, and beautiful.
You're going to take turns you didn't plan for.
You're going to face rocks you didn't see coming.
But you're also going to carve out new paths,
discover new landscapes,
and become someone you never imagined you could be.
So, let yourself flow.
Trust that wherever you're going,
you'll figure it out.
You don't have to have the answers yet.
You just have to keep moving.

The river doesn’t apologize for changing[3/4]
*****
Think about it.
The river doesn't apologize for changing.
It doesn't stop and say,
"Wait, I used to flow differently.
I can't keep going like this."
It just adapts.
It trusts that wherever it's going,
it's meant to go.
So why can't we do the same?
Why can't we let go of the need
to have it all figured out?
Why can't we allow ourselves
to let go of what's no longer working-
to flow in a different direction
when life asks us to?

But here's the thing:
how many of us let ourselves be like that?
How many of us let ourselves change,
grow, and flow without guilt or fear?
We hold on.
To ideas of who we think we're supposed to be.
To the expectations of others.
To plans that no longer make sense.
And when life throws us a rock
or makes us take a turn
we didn't see coming,
we resist.
We fight it,
break ourselves against it,
try to stay exactly as we are.
But maybe we're not meant to stay the same.
Maybe the point isn't to be a perfect version of ourselves
but to become.
To learn, unlearn, and keep moving forward.
