I started Blender at 19 with zero experience.

3 years of learning hard surface. 2 years teaching it.
Built two Blender tools from scratch — MatricX Pro &
MatricX Bake — because the existing tools weren't fast enough.

This channel is everything I wish existed when I started:
hard surface modeling, procedural texturing, game asset
workflows, and honest breakdowns of how things are made.

If you're serious about 3D — this is your place.

Anyone Heard Name "Rickshaw" ?

I see most artists always try tank, truck... all same common vehicles, so i would like to use a concept design somthing more specific.

I like indian auto rickshaw, i see All days, i thought like, why can't we make a concept of it.

Any guessing on how its going to look?

Quick update for everyone waiting for the next Concept Design Series 👀

The series got delayed a bit — not because I’m slacking off 😭
I’ve been fully focused on seriously upgrading the entire MatricX ecosystem to deliver a much better workflow and overall experience for you guys.

And honestly… the new update became WAY bigger than I originally planned.

One of the biggest things:
MatricX PRO now has a full Decal Workflow System.

A lot of you requested decals through emails and messages, so I finally built it properly:
• Decal placement
• Surface projection
• Material matching
• Your own custom decal packs support
• Lots of workflow upgrades and hidden improvements

There’s also a ton of new features across:

* Materials
* Viewport workflow
* Baking workflow
* Surface detailing

If you’re curious, start with MatricX Lite first.
It’s completely FREE.

That way there’s basically no risk:
Try the workflow → see if you like it → upgrade to PRO later if you want the full system.

So yeah… if you want to support the channel and speed up your Blender workflow at the same time, check it out 👀

The Concept Design Series is officially my next main focus now.

Question for hard-surface artists:

Do you model everything from scratch, or do you reuse parts like suspension systems, turrets, and weapon assemblies?

I've personally started building a library of reusable mechanical components, and I've just released my first Mechanical Systems Kitbash Pack.

Mini Kit: eidosedge.gumroad.com/l/MiniKitPack

Curious what components you struggle to build most often.

This channel is getting a new name — EidosEdge.

You’ve been here supporting the work, and I didn’t want the change to feel random when things start looking different.

The truth is… “Jack” was a placeholder.
It was never a real identity. EidosEdge is.

“Eidos” is Greek for the true form of an idea — concept design, hard surface work, seeing what others miss.
“Edge” represents precision, clarity, and the honesty this channel has always been about.

New name. New logo.
Everything else stays the same — the tutorials, the critiques, and the brutal honesty about 3D design.

Thank you for being here.
The best is coming.

How many hours you spend on a day working working in 3D?

For me it's 7-8 hours. Be honest, nothing you gonna get or lose if you lie.

I'M REBUILDING THE ENTIRE DESIGN.

There is nothing wrong with my old design, it's grounded and more realistic, but, it's build with uncertainty, i don't have clear picture of what I'm building, it's guessing work, but, when i rebuilding it from scratch, i know exactly how to approach design, i have full 3d sketch in front of me, with that, i working more clear and make easy change, my goal, it's not too real world, but somthing near futuristic design, so im working again and rebuild more refined and detailed.

This vehicle design taking me so long, but everyday, there is major improvement.

So, the tip for today is, don't keep anything fixed, keep it lose and have mindset to change anything at any stage.
Add stuff, remove stuff and adapt to new changes.

Keep moving forward, you almost get to the level you always wanted. Don't give up.
