This is easily one of the best places in Paris to see the Christmas decorations in all their glory.
If you’re visiting Paris during December, this is a must-see spot. Standing at Place de la Concorde, you can enjoy a perfect view of the beautifully lit Champs-Élysées leading all the way up to the Arc de Triomphe. The festive lights, Parisian traffic and winter sparkle make this location pure magic.


Discover the 2025 Champs-Élysées Christmas lights in Paris, featuring a spectacular new sound and light show, 430,000 LED pixels, hourly sparkling moments, and magical festive illuminations from November 16 to January 4.

What’s New & Spectacular in 2025
1. Sound & Light Show (“Stéréophonie”)
• For the first time, there’s an immersive son et lumière (sound + light) show along the avenue.
• Designed by Thomas Dechandon, with a musical composition by Victor Le Masne.
• The light show is made of 430,000 individually controllable LED “pixels”, allowing very dynamic, animated effects.
• It’s a 6 minute 35-second sequence.
• The trees (about 400 of them) themselves become part of the “instruments” in the light/musical choreography.
2. Luminous “Veil” in the Side Alleys
• In the counter-alleys (the smaller tree-lined paths on either side of the main avenue), there will be a ceiling of luminous braids linking the trees — creating a kind of “sky of lights.”
3. Schedule & Timings
• Illuminations run from 16 November 2025 to 4 January 2026.
• Every evening: from 5 pm (17:00) the lights come on.
• On Fridays and Saturdays: the show continues until 1am.
• 24 & 31 December: the lights stay on all night.
• There’s a “sparkle” moment: every full hour (6pm, 7pm, …, 11pm), the avenue twinkles for about 5 minutes, in a kind of dialogue with the Eiffel Tower’s light show.
4. Opening Ceremony
• The lights are officially turned on 16 November 2025 at ~18:30.
• Léa Seydoux is the “marraine” (godmother) for the event.
• At the launch, there’s also a performance by Charlotte Cardin.
5. Energy & Sustainability
• The lighting is very energy efficient: thanks to LED technology, the electricity consumption is low.
• According to reports, the total consumption is estimated at 13,300 kWh for the season.
• The daily “cost” of electricity (for the lights) is estimated to be around €50–60 per day, which is quite modest given the scale.
6. No Christmas Market on the Champs
• Important: there is no Christmas market on the Champs-Élysées in 2025.
• If you’re looking for a Christmas market nearby, the Tuileries Christmas Market (Magie de Noël) is a good alternative.

• Best Time to Visit Each Evening: Try to arrive just before 5 pm or shortly after, so you can catch the first cycle of the light show.
