Dontaye Carter grew up in Orlando, Florida in a single-parent, working-class home. His mother raised 4 children while working and earning a college degree, so he learned from an early age what you could achieve through hard work and perseverance. He went on to study Broadcast Journalism at Florida A&M University, where an internship at the local news station led to a career in television news production and reporting.
After meeting the woman he would marry, Dontaye moved to Sandy Springs to be with her and to start a family. In 2014, he left television news to join the former Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard as the youngest person ever to lead up the DA’s Public Affairs Department. It was his work there that led him to start his own Public Relations firm which he has used to bring attention and awareness to important stories like those of Ahmaud Arbery, Jimmy Atchison, and the survivors of R. Kelly, in addition to SB 202 and the growing problem of voter suppression laws.
