Welcome to my old cottage garden at the top of the Swansea Valley on the edge of Bannau Brycheiniog (the Brecon Beacons) in Wales, UK.
This garden had been neglected for years when I moved here with my husband 7 years ago. When he died suddenly I decided to try to restore it as a cottage garden.
I have had different gardens and an allotment for many years and have always gardened in a conventional way. This year, shocked by the catastrophic decline in Welsh wildlife I determined to overturn a lifetime of convention, to wild my garden, to provide habitats for as many different types and kinds of wildlife as I possibly can.
So I am on a journey, learning how to garden in a way which is in tune with natural ecosystems and natural processes and which is better for wildlife
