Friends, this is truly an outrageous case.
The client arrived confident that the problem was simply with the wiring or the ABS sensor.
But after inspection, it became clear that the issue was something completely different.
Judging by the condition of the truck, a pre-trip inspection hadn't been performed here in a very long time. If ever.
And frankly, if a DOT inspector had stopped this truck, the list of violations would have been very long.
During the inspection, it was discovered that the brake pads on at least two sides were practically gone.
But the most interesting thing was on the left side.
Watch the video carefully 👀
The brake pad had been gone for a very long time.
So long ago that the caliper piston itself had started braking instead of the brake pad.
And this isn't just a simple repair.
It's a safety issue.
Furthermore, serious damage and cracks had already formed in the brake assembly.
At any moment, this could have led to the wheel locking up while driving. And then the consequences can be very serious.
That's why pre-trip inspections exist for a reason.
According to FMCSA regulations, drivers are required to inspect their vehicles before driving.
But even if you ignore the regulations, it's just common sense.
A few minutes of pre-trip inspection can prevent costly repairs, truck downtime, or even a serious accident.
