Make sure it's in good condition and not too dry or brittle. Lay the leaf flat on a clean surface, with the underside facing up. This will be the body of your caterpillar. Take your scissors and cut the leaf into small, equal-sized segments. These will become the caterpillar's body segments. You can make as many segments as you like, depending on the size of your leaf.
