In the 2019 film Alita: Battle Angel, Alita abandons a rigged Motorball race to save Hugo, with a gang of Hunter-Warrior assassins in hot pursuit, hired by Vector. She battles her way through the assassins—and a vengeful Zapan—to reach Hugo at the abandoned church.
1. The Motorball Ambush
Vector arranges a Motorball tryout race to eliminate Alita. However, the other competitors are not just standard athletes, but a gang of ruthless Hunter-Warrior assassins paid to hunt her down and kill her. Alita's fighting abilities prove superior, and she begins to cut through the pursuing group on the track.
2. The Battle at the Church
Upon realizing that Hugo is in grave danger because of a framed murder charge, Alita escapes the Motorball arena and heads to the abandoned church. She is ruthlessly pursued by the remaining Hunter-Warrior Assassins. She battles her way through the assassins one by one till she meets the vengeful Zapan to reach Hugo at the abandoned church.
