Same Collin County court. Same DA's office under Greg Willis. Same bench tied to the Karmelo Anthony case — and the sentences couldn't look more different.
Meet Dennis Ray Davis III. He was a 17-year-old PASSENGER in a car during a 2024 Allen, TX traffic stop. He was charged as an adult, and on October 10, 2024 he pled guilty to a first-degree felony — walking away with 10 years in prison plus a firearm "deadly weapon" finding that means he must serve 5 full calendar years before he's even eligible for parole. The 10 years? That was the statutory MINIMUM. The "deal" conceded almost nothing.
So the question this short asks is simple: how does the same system hand out these numbers and call it equal justice?
