A major bureaucratic scandal has emerged in Haryana. Senior IAS officer Pankaj Agrawal has been suspended by the Haryana government on June 26, 2026, following his CBI arrest on June 22.
The former Principal Secretary of the School Education and Agriculture Departments is accused of illegally opening government accounts at IDFC FIRST Bank's Sector-32 branch in Chandigarh, allegedly causing a ₹60.54 crore loss to the state.
The CBI claims this is part of a much larger ₹504 crore scam involving eight Haryana government departments, shell companies, and multiple accused. So far, 17 people, including bank officials, public servants, companies, and private individuals, have been charge-sheeted.
