Holy cats, this got here fast! Welcome back to the channel, and today we are diving into a first look, unboxing, and initial impressions of the brand-new Antank S3 Pro-2 TV Dock for the Nintendo Switch 2! If you caught our recent preview video, you know we were incredibly excited about this upcoming accessory, and it has officially arrived at the studio.
The S3 Pro-2 is positioned as the ultimate budget-friendly third-party dock alternative for the Nintendo Switch 2, but it brings a massive hardware upgrade to the table: a premium, solid aluminum alloy design. While standard plastic docks keep production costs low, they can often look and feel a bit cheap on your entertainment center. This new aluminum overhaul completely changes the game. Not only does it feel remarkably premium and sturdy in the hand, but the aluminum construction effectively acts as a passive heat sink. Because the official Nintendo Switch 2 dock utilizes an integrated fan to keep system thermals down during high-performance gameplay, a lot of players have been concerned about third-party options. Thanks to the S3 Pro-2โs completely open-air layout and metal body, it draws heat away from the back of the console naturally, providing exceptional thermal dissipation without needing a loud internal fan.
Taking a closer look at the unboxing, the packaging is relatively similar to the previous S3 Max model, just scaled up slightly. Once you slide the dock out, you can immediately spot the physical design tweaks. It features a narrower but taller silhouette that looks incredibly modern. On the front, youโll find the spring-buffered USB-C connection port. In a brilliant design choice for travel and portability, the front guide segment actually slides directly back into the body, making the overall footprint much more compact and svelte to easily slip into a backpack or travel bag. I also really love the side texture profile; the visual aesthetic reminds me of a precise monotonic line with a unique infill pattern, contrasting beautifully with the smooth aluminum plating.
Another highly advertised feature of the S3 Pro-2 is its high-friction rubberized base design, which claims to safely hold your system at a 45-degree angle. I decided to test it out using our coowps P2 grip case still attached to the Switch 2. The coowps case is bulky on the back to accommodate ergonomic hand grips and a magnetic ring, but when dropping it into the Antank cradle, the USB-C connection successfully engaged perfectly!
โ ๏ธ CRITICAL SETUP NOTE: Please keep in mind that this is a standalone dock station. It does not include any cables or a power brick in the box. You will need to provide your own high-speed HDMI cable and power supply. To protect your hardware and ensure standard Power Delivery (PD) handshake compliance, we strongly recommend sticking with the official OEM Nintendo Switch 2 Power Supply rather than using generic phone chargers.
We are hooking this dock up to our studio monitor right now to capture footage, run stress tests, and verify performance stability. Our full, comprehensive review will be dropping right after our upcoming YouTube Short, so make sure to hit that subscribe button and turn on notifications so you don't miss it!
