Born in the age of typewriters, it was meant to save effort —
lock uppercase once, and type faster.
Yet decades later, it mostly causes accidental SHOUTING.
Still, removing it would break habits built over generations.
Sometimes design survives not because it’s perfect — but because it’s familiar.
