There are some really nefarious "Christian" leaders out there...I don't believe it is most but they are prevalent and do a ton of damage due to the position and influence they are allowed/given. It pays to know what to look for so you can save yourself years of abuse and manipulation.
These people know how to make you feel crazy so they don't look crazy. They are the most seemingly secure but secretly insecure people you will ever meet.
1 - They are or are trying to be the sole authority
2 - They try to replace Jesus as "Chief Shepherd" (1 Peter 5)
3 - They surround themselves with agreeable people
4 - They create systems that doubt accusers
5 - Loyalty is paramount
6 - Codepdency and enmeshment are high
7 - The create a culture of comparison
8 - They constantly feel threatened
9 - They hire "weaker" talent
10 - The cannot handle criticism
