Police rushed the front door in SWAT gear and forced entry within 20 seconds, The amount of time must be "reasonable" based on the circumstances. Entering in just 20 seconds and arresting for “witness tampering” without real evidence or corroboration, for non-violent allegations—where no evidence can be easily destroyed (unlike a narcotics case)—is likely a constitutional violation. The execution of a search warrant is governed by the "reasonableness" standard under Article I, Paragraph 7 of the NJ Constitution, which often provides stronger protections than the federal Fourth Amendment.  This all came after the neighbor’s phone call, after a calm, non-threatening conversation, which is legal speech.
