Out of all the incredible accessories coming out for the Nintendo Switch 2, this is easily one of my absolute favorites. Say hello to the ABXYLUTE N6 Grip Dock Controller! Whenever I am playing my Switch 2 in handheld mode, this is the exact setup I find myself reaching for the most.
Some of you might remember seeing a pre-production version of this floating around a while back during their Kickstarter phase. Well, the awesome team at ABXYLUTE (pronounced Absolute, pun most definitely intended!) just sent over the official final production version of the N6, and I couldn't be more excited to give you a hands-on look at how it handles.
In this video, we are unboxing and reviewing both the striking Indigo version (which features that beautiful, nostalgic GameCube color scheme with those classic grey sticks and colored face buttons) and the sleek, stealthy Black version. Under the hood, both controllers feature the exact same high-performance internals, full-sized ergonomic design, and a seamless plug-and-play connection that instantly turns your console into a handheld powerhouse.

🔍 Key Features & Performance Deep-Dive:
Zero-Drift Hall Effect Joysticks: Say goodbye to stick drift forever. The N6 features large-size Hall Effect analog sticks that use magnetic sensors instead of physical contact points. This provides incredible long-term durability and the kind of pinpoint precision you need for competitive play.
Full-Size Ergonomic Palm Grips: Unlike flat, cramped Joy-Cons that cause hand fatigue, the N6 features a sculpted, full-sized deck grip. It distributes the weight of the Switch 2 beautifully across your hands, allowing for hours of strain-free gaming.
Programmable Macro Back Buttons: Cleanly positioned on the rear of the grips are dedicated macro keys (GL/GR). You can easily map complex combos or face buttons right to your fingertips without taking your thumbs off the joysticks.
Built-in Audio Resonance Chamber: This is a brilliant piece of engineering. The structural shell features a specialized resonance chamber that physically redirects the console's speaker output directly toward your face, naturally boosting audio depth and giving you a cleaner soundstage.
Native 9-Axis Gyroscope Motion Control: Full integration for motion-heavy titles ensures that gyro aiming and steering are fluid, accurate, and completely lag-free.
Instant Communication C-Button: Features a dedicated, system-level chat button designed to natively interact with the new multiplayer and chat systems.
Premium Tactile Button Layout: The ABXY face buttons and D-pad utilize premium conductive rubber for a comfortable, classic controller feel, paired with incredibly crisp, clicky tactile switches for the shoulder buttons.
🕹️ Real-World Testing & My Honest Verdict:
Sliding your Switch 2 into the N6 is incredibly smooth and reliable—no awkward Bluetooth pairing or connection dropouts. Testing it out on intense fighting games like Street Fighter, the analog precision and tactile face buttons handle directional inputs and combos flawlessly.
There are two minor design choices to keep in mind depending on your playstyle. First, the N6 does not feature built-in Amiibo support (NFC reading). This isn't a dealbreaker for me since I don't use Amiibos heavily in-game, and you can always pop on standard Joy-Cons for a quick second if you need to scan something. Second, the vertical height of the controller grips is actually slightly shorter than the frame of the Switch 2 console itself. While some reviewers might find that visual choice odd, I actually love it. It brings back a bit of that compact, original first-gen Switch handheld feel without compromising on massive, full-sized controller ergonomics.
💬 What do you think of the GameCube Indigo color? What about the stealth black? Is the abxylute N6 something you would consider adding to your setup? It is without a doubt my personal favorite Switch 2 Handheld solution, and the ABXYlute N6 Deck Controller nails it in my book. Let me know your thoughts down in the comment section!
