Receiving a lung cancer diagnosis is overwhelming, and it can feel incredibly discouraging if your biomarker testing comes back without an "actionable genomic alteration." But as Dr. Eric Singhi explains in this clip, this does not mean you are out of options!
Even without a traditional genomic match, standard-of-care therapies like immunotherapy can still work incredibly well. Furthermore, the medical definition of a "targetable" biomarker is rapidly evolving. Over the last year and a half, oncologists have started looking at newer protein biomarkers that can be matched with highly targeted treatments called antibody-drug conjugates.
Bottom line: Don't lose hope. Between current standard-of-care therapies and new clinical trials, there are options out there for you.
This clip is an excerpt from our full-length Lung Cancer Living Room® episode featuring Dr. Eric Singhi, where we dive deep into exciting new treatments in non-small cell lung cancer.
