In an interview for Al Mayadeen, Professor Mohammad Marandi said that he believes that the trip of Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Iran's parliament speaker, to Doha, Qatar, was successful. He explained that there were two agendas, one of which was to ensure that if there were a US-Iran agreement, Iranian money "effectively stolen by the US government would be quickly returned to Iran." The second reason, according to Professor Marandi, is to pave the way for a new environment, a new condition for these countries to shift policy away from Washington.
