The Dassault Rafale is one of the world’s most advanced 4.5-generation multirole fighter jets, designed and manufactured by France’s aerospace giant Dassault Aviation. In 2026, Rafale has become a true global combat aircraft, operated by multiple countries across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. But how many Rafales does each country actually have? And how many are still on order? Let’s break it down. 🇫🇷 France remains the largest operator of Rafale jets. The French Air and Space Force and the French Navy together operate more than 230 Rafales, including advanced F3R and new F4 variants. France continues to upgrade its fleet to maintain air superiority and nuclear deterrence capabilities. 🇮🇳 India currently operates 36 Rafale fighter jets in the Indian Air Force. These jets are deployed at strategic airbases like Ambala and Hasimara. In addition, India has signed a deal for 26 Rafale-M (Marine) variants for the Indian Navy, which will operate from aircraft carriers. This strengthens India’s air dominance in the Indo-Pacific region. 🇪🇬 Egypt has inducted a total of 54 Rafales (initial 24 + 30 additional). Egypt was the first export customer of Rafale, and the aircraft plays a crucial role in strengthening its air force modernization. 🇶🇦 Qatar operates 36 Rafales as part of its advanced air combat fleet. The country has significantly upgraded its air power in recent years. 🇬🇷 Greece has acquired 24 Rafales to enhance its air superiority in the Mediterranean region. The deal includes both new and upgraded aircraft, strengthening Greece’s defense posture. 🇭🇷 Croatia has inducted 12 Rafales, modernizing its air force with one of Europe’s most capable fighter platforms. 🇮🇩 Indonesia has signed a major deal for 42 Rafales. Deliveries have already started, marking one of the biggest defense agreements in Southeast Asia. 🇦🇪 United Arab Emirates (UAE) signed the largest export deal in Rafale history with an order of 80 aircraft. Deliveries are expected to take place over the coming years, making the UAE one of the largest Rafale operators outside France. 🇷🇸 Serbia has also placed an order for 12 Rafales, expanding the aircraft’s footprint in Eastern Europe. The Rafale is known for its versatility — it can perform air superiority, ground attack, reconnaissance, and nuclear deterrence missions. Equipped with advanced AESA radar, Meteor air-to-air missiles, SCALP cruise missiles, and cutting-edge electronic warfare systems, Rafale is considered battle-proven and combat-tested. With increasing geopolitical tensions and rising defense budgets worldwide, Rafale continues to attract new buyers. Its combination of performance, reliability, and multi-role capability makes it one of the most sought-after fighter jets in the world. In this video, we covered all Rafale operator countries, the number of jets they have in service, and confirmed orders.
