Psalm 119
(a.) Blessed is the one whose conduct is blameless, who walks in accordance with the law of the Lord.
Blessed is the one who keeps his statutes and seeks him with all his heart.
This person does no evil, but walks in his ways.
You commanded us, O Lord, that we should diligently obey them.
May my path be guided, that I may keep your statutes.
I value all your commands, and I will not be put to shame.
Having learned your righteous judgment, I will praise you with an upright heart.
I will keep your statutes; do not reject me, O Lord.
(b.) How can a young man purify his conduct? I must keep your word.
I have sought you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands.
I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.
Blessed are you, O Lord; teach me your statutes.
With my lips I declare all the ordinances of your mouth.
I delight in your statutes as in all riches.
I will meditate on your precepts and take your ways at heart.
I will find joy in your statutes; I will not forget your word.
(C.) Treat your servant with great favor, that I may live, and keep your word.
Open my eyes, that I may see the wonders of your law.
I am a stranger on earth; do not hide your commands from me.
I long for your ordinances, even to the point of heartbreak.
You have rebuked the proud, who are cursed and have strayed from your commands.
Remove from me the shame and contempt I have endured, for I keep your statutes.
Though leaders sit and speak ill of me, your servant meditates on your decrees.
Your statutes are my delight and my counselor.
(D.) My life is nearing dust; restore me according to your word.
I have told you what I have done, and you have heard me; instruct me in your statutes.
Make me understand your precepts, and I will speak of your wonders.
My heart is melting with sorrow; strengthen me according to your word.
Turn me from the way of deceit, and graciously give me your law.
I have chosen the way of faithfulness, and set your ordinances before me.
I hold fast to your statutes; do not put me to shame, O Lord.
When you open my heart, I run straight to the ways of your commandments.
(E.) Teach me your statutes, O Lord; I will keep them to the end.
Give me understanding, and I will keep your law with all my heart.
Let me obey your commandments, for this is my delight.
Turn my heart toward your statutes, and not toward greed.
Turn my eyes away from falsehood, and let me live in your ways.
Uphold the promises you made to those who fear you to your servants.
Keep away from the shame I fear, for your ordinances are good.
Behold, I desire your precepts; let me live in your righteousness.
(Fri.) O Lord, may your steadfast love, your salvation, come upon me according to your word.
Then I will have a reply to those who have humiliated me, for I trust in your word.
Do not let the whole truth depart from my mouth, for I look to your ordinances.
I will keep your law forever and ever.
I will walk freely, for I have studied your precepts.
I will speak your statutes before kings, and will not be put to shame.
I will find joy in your commandments, which I have loved.
I will exalt your commandments with my own hands, which I have loved; I will meditate on your statutes.
(G.) Remember the promise you made to your servant, that I may have hope.
These words have given me life; by them I am comforted in my troubles.
The proud utterly mock me, yet I have not strayed from your law.
I am comforted, O Lord, when I remember your ancient ordinances.
But I am seized by terror when I see the wicked forsake your law.
As a sojourner on earth, your statutes have been my song.
I remember your name in the night, O Lord, and keep your law.
I do this because I keep your precepts.
(Synchronous) O Lord, you are my portion; I said, I would keep your words.
I have sought your favor with all my heart; may you have mercy on me according to your word.
I consider my ways, and turn back to your statutes.
I have hasten to keep your commands, and have not delayed.
The cords of the wicked bind me, yet I have not forgotten your law.
I will rise at midnight to give thanks to you because of your righteous ordinances.
I will be a companion to all who fear you and keep your precepts.
O Lord, your steadfast love fills the earth; teach me your statutes.
(I) O Lord, you have always treated your servants well according to your word.
Instruct me in wisdom and knowledge, for I have believed your commands.
Before I was afflicted, I went astray, but now I keep your word.
You are good, and your works are good; teach me your statute...
