LULA DEFENDS PETROBRAS AND SLAMS PRIVATIZATIONS
President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva reiterated his support for strengthening Petrobras, reindustrializing Brazil, and promoting domestic production of fertilizers, platforms, and ships. During his speech, Lula criticized the sale of public assets, questioned the privatizations of BR Distribuidora, Liquigás, and Eletrobras, and stated that the country has lost jobs, technology, and industrial capacity by replacing domestic production with imports.
