The great Chola king Raja Rajan Chola who ruled large part of South Asia in history of India. This King wanted to change his empire capital from Tanjavur to Cholapuram and to do so he wanted a Gangajal to perform Abhishek.
He sent his people to bring Gangajal from Ganga River which belonged to Pal Empire back then which was ruled by Raja Mahipal. He denied to give Gangajal to the Chola King. Not just him but all kings around his empire they also denied his entry.
Followed by this, The Chola King fought with all these empires who came between him and Gangajal geography wise. Like Sakkarkotam, Panchpalli etc which are today’s Bihar & Jharkhand mainly.
He won the war against all these kings including King Mahipal and as a punishment he made all these kings Carry a Gangajal in golden pot on top of there head.
The Gangajal reached Tanjavur & abhishekam was done and new capital was established. He later won the territory until today’s Indonesia, Malaysia, Sumatra etc
