VOLVO TRUCKS has created some of the most outrageous marketing stunts in automotive history.
To prove the strength of a tow hook, Volvo suspended its own company president nearly 100 feet in the air. To demonstrate steering precision, they used a hamster running in a wheel connected to a truck's steering system. And to show pulling power, they had a truck drag more than 20 trailers weighing almost 1,000 tons.
These weren't movie scenes. They were actual Volvo commercials designed to showcase real engineering.
