For decades, the U.S. has positioned itself as the self-anointed moral arbiter and big brother of the world. Through it's multiple media and publicity extensions, it arrogates to itself the right to pontificate about "corruption" and "human rights abused" elsewhere, while its intelligence and military extensions facilitate the deadliest genocides and regime operations the world has ever witnessed. From Hiroshima to Palestine; from Libya to Venezuela, the U.S. is always at the forefront of destabilising the world under whatever guise catches its fancy.
This was the point made by African American community leader and Nation of Islam founder Dr. Louis Farrakhan in this interview with '60 Minutes' anchor Mike Wallace 30 years ago in 1996. His point remains just as relevant today - African corruption, which is spearheaded and facilitated by the U.S., is a tiny rounding error compared to U.S. corruption and impunity. The right to act as an international moral authority has to be earned, and the U.S. has not earned that right.
Africa will not be judged by imperial powers that gained and maintain their power and wealth by tearing a profitable trail of death, destruction and violence across the Global South. The only assistance Africa needs from the U.S. is to be left alone to solve its problems on its own terms.
