🌍1. MINING
mining is the process of taking out minerals from rocks buried under the Earth surface. it is divided into two main methods.
🔺️a) Open Cast mining-
it is used for the minerals that lie at the shallow depth. the surface layer of the soil and rock is simply removed so that miners can easily dig out ores.
🔺️b) Shaft mining-
used for mineral deposits found deep underground.Deep vertical holes are dug to reach the minerals and underground Chambers are created for miners to access and extract the minerals.

this method is used to extract liquid or gaseous minerals found deep within the earth crust.
📌How does it work?
deep wells are bored into the earth using specialised machinery allowing miners to pump out the liquid or gaseous minerals like petroleum or natural gas.

this method is used to extract Minerals and building materials that are located near to the Earth surface.
📌How it works?
instead of digging deep pits are shaft minerals are simply cut or dug out directly from the ground.
