Speed painting of one of my favorite poets, the American lyric poet Sara Teasdale (1884 – 1933).
There are only black and white photographs of Sara so I wanted to create a portrait that would match her vibrant and passionate poetry.
The first sketch was done with pen and paper and then I used the pencils and watercolors in Rebelle 7 Pro. I’m still pretty new to Rebelle so I learned a lot during the process. I love the how the program handles watercolors!
The song is Sara’s famous anti-war poem "There Will Come Soft Rains" that I’ve set to music. The poem describes a harmonious world without human beings. Spring and her rejuvenating rain will always come no matter what’s going on with mankind.
