Sri Hanuman Janmotsava marks the auspicious appearance day of Sri Hanuman, the ardent devotee and eternal servant of Lord Sri Ramachandra. At ISKCON Bangalore, this sacred occasion is celebrated on the day of Chaitra Purnima. Across India, there are countless temples dedicated to Sri Hanuman, and his presence is especially revered in Vaishnava traditions. Devotees worship him as a remover of obstacles and a source of strength in their devotional journey. At ISKCON Vaikuntha Hill, Vasanthapura, a shrine of Sri Hanuman stands at the entrance of Sri Rajadhiraja Govinda Temple. On the divine occasion of Hanuman Janmotsava, a traditional panchamrita abhisheka is offered to Sri Hanuman early morning at 5:30 AM, followed by a special arati at 7:55 AM. Sri Hanuman is adorned in a unique benne alankara — a decoration made of fresh butter and dry fruits — and beautifully garlanded with fragrant flowers, betel leaves, and vadamalas (garlands of deep-fried lentil dumplings), which are especially pleasing to him.
