Your Kidneys Could Be in Trouble… And You Might Not Even Know It.

Today is World Kidney Day 🌍, a reminder that millions of people are living with kidney disease without any symptoms.

Your kidneys are powerful organs that work 24 hours a day to filter toxins, balance fluids, regulate blood pressure, and keep your body in balance. Yet many people only discover kidney disease when it is already advanced.

💡 The good news? Many kidney problems can be prevented.

Here are 5 simple ways to protect your kidneys:

1️⃣ Drink enough water, 2-3L of water daily
2️⃣ Control your blood pressure aiming for 120/80mmHg
3️⃣ Manage your blood sugar
4️⃣ Reduce excess salt and processed foods. Limit daily salt intake to 5g of salt daily.
5️⃣ Get regular health checks

⚠️ Possible warning signs of kidney disease include:

* Swelling of the feet or face
* Persistent tiredness
* Changes in urination
* Foamy urine
* Loss of appetite

Early kidney disease often has no obvious symptom, which is why regular health checks are so important.

💬 Let’s spread awareness today.

Today we celebrate International Women’s Day.

A day to honour the strength, resilience, and remarkable achievements of women across the world.

Women are leaders, innovators, caregivers, professionals, entrepreneurs, mothers, daughters, and change-makers. Every day, women contribute in powerful ways to their families, communities, and society. From groundbreaking discoveries in science and medicine to leadership in business, education, and public service, the impact of women continues to shape a healthier and stronger world.

But today is also a reminder of something equally important; women must prioritise their own health and wellbeing.

Many women spend so much time caring for others that their own health often comes last. Yet looking after your health is not a luxury, it is essential.

Taking care of your health means:
• Attending regular health check-ups
• Listening to your body when something doesn’t feel right
• Prioritising mental wellbeing
• Eating nourishing foods and staying active
• Getting enough rest and sleep
• Seeking medical advice early when symptoms arise

Early detection and prevention can save lives.

So today, while we celebrate the incredible achievements of women everywhere, let us also make a commitment:

To value our health.
To seek knowledge.
To support one another.
And to empower women to live healthier, longer lives.

To every woman reading this,
You are powerful.
You are valuable.
And your health matters.

Happy International Women’s Day.
