It actually pays to strip old parts cars just for the hardware.

Took an '85 Chevy S10 parts truck to the Scrap Recycle along with other left over scrap metal totaling 1 ton. Got a whopping $68 dollars.
Then I went to SoCo Steel and bought the pieces to build the Firewall in the Corvair..... These 5 pieces came to just under $200 with my shop discount.
What a day.........

Got the main frame rails cut out and ready to be welded together for the '66 Corvair. Now on to the 2x3" out-riggers that will tie into the Rockers and serve as the foundation for the roll bar.

Total chaos in the shop this past week but I did get the 1950 Ford F1 straight axle converted to disc brakes. The Speedway Kit only takes about an hour to install and I'll have full length videos coming on it as soon as my new Windows 11 PC gets here..... Yeah I had to break down and buy another computer...ug.
