Troy Dominiq is een muzikant met een eigen geluid: in zijn ongekende mix van kaseko, rap, afro en jazz creëert hij vrijheid binnen de muziek en neemt hij de luisteraar mee in zijn verhaal.
Dankzij zijn muzikale familie is Troy altijd omringd geweest door muziek: van drumles vanaf zijn tiende, tot meedoen aan optredens met het kerkkoor. Troy besloot op een gegeven moment na zijn studie bewust op zoek te gaan naar zijn muziek-dna, buiten de kaders van het mainstream geluid.
Vrijheid is Troy’s drijfveer in zijn reis binnen de muziek en in het vertellen van zijn verhaal. Hij draagt op deze manier zijn voorouders nog bij zich en is ervan overtuigd dat ze op deze manier voortleven. Dat hij het verhaal vertelt van zijn voorouders, de koningen en koninginnen voor zijn tijd, en alles wat ze hebben doorstaan. En zo vindt hij vrijheid in muziek.

Freedom is what drives me in my journey within music and in telling my story. In this way I still carry my ancestors with me and I am convinced that they live on through my music. I wanna embrace the story of my ancestors, the kings and queens before my time, and all they've endured 👑
And so I find freedom in music 🌟

I almost can’t believe it! I never thought that I would be sitting here making my very own music and sharing it with you guys 💯
Eventhough music was always an outlet for me, it was never really something that I seriously thought about doing. But by recognising that music was always a constant in my life I realized that it is my calling. So I decided to study music.
After my studies, I decided to look for my musical DNA outside the boundaries of the mainstream sound🎵
I am big on doing what I want when I want and my music is therefore a reflection of my life journey and identity ♥️
