Curious about full-time travel after 50? We break down costs, planning, and what it really takes. Plus, authentic local stories from where we live, sip, and explore.
Welcome to Scott & Liza Redefined
We’re Scott (Boston native) and Liza (California-born, Miami-raised)—a couple who met at an ice cream shop in Cambridge 30 years ago and have been scooping up life ever since.
Now in our 50s, we’ve traded the 9-to-5 for slow travel, intentional living, and great coffee. We stay a month or more in each spot, share real costs, and walk through logistics to show how doable full-time travel can be.
Currently, we're on a long-stay visa based in France. We're moving between cities across Europe, testing what works and what it costs.
Whether you're dreaming of early retirement, planning long-term travel, or simply curious about redefining life after 50—we’re living it and showing you how.
Great food. Strong coffee. Slow mornings — in a different city every few months.

We arrived in Sète, France in January. Cold, windy, almost nothing open.
By the end of week one we didn't want to leave.

Six months of slow traveling through Europe and we’ve figured out that having the right cards matters a lot more than having cash.

We tracked every dollar of our eight days in Tuscany and Cinque Terre.
The total came to $3,534 — roughly what we spend in a normal month of living.
Individually, the choices didn’t feel extreme. Together, they added up to something we have to think about.
How do you handle higher-cost trips?
