Hey, I’m Chris Loud—an intuitive abstract and mixed-media painter working mostly in acrylics. This channel is all about the process of painting: loosening up, trusting your instincts, and building dynamic abstract paintings without overthinking every mark.

You’ll find short painting demos, 10–20 minute warm-up exercises, creative prompts, and composition ideas you can use right away. We often work with limited color palettes, simple tools, and time limits to spark creativity and build confidence. The focus is on intuitive abstract painting, abstract landscapes, layering, mark-making, and discovering strong compositions inside spontaneous work.

My goal isn’t perfection—it’s momentum. Expect quick experiments, loose marks, unexpected discoveries, and ideas you can adapt to your own style.

Subscribe and find fresh inspiration for your abstract paintings.

Which MOOD are you in today: WILD ENERGY or QUIET BLOOM? 🌿🎨

I just added both of these small paintings to the Etsy shop if anyone wants to take a closer look: www.etsy.com/shop/ChrisLoudArt

A few collage flowers I’ve been experimenting with lately.
Which one catches your eye most? Also… would anyone want to see a demo video on how I make these?

(They’re built from painted paper, scraps, textures, and whatever little bits happen to be nearby at the time.)

I came across a few old warm-up paintings today…which one (if any) deserves a second chance?

Only a few prints left from this first round. www.etsy.com/shop/ChrisLoudArt?section_id=58337813

There are still a handful on Etsy if you’ve been eyeing one. Also—what paintings should I turn into prints next?

Should I hang this 20x20 wood panel in the orientation I painted it in (#1), or turn it? What's your pick?

Fresh listings in the shop this week (www.etsy.com/shop/ChrisLoudArt) — three new paintings and something completely new for me: handmade stamp greeting cards! Sometimes you go into the studio planning to work on a larger painting and end up going in a totally different (but incredibly fun) direction—cards can be quite addicting.

Should we experiment with acrylic skins (dried acrylic paint peels) in a future video?

Coffee. Loud music. No plan.
Painted over a page in my sketchbook that wasn’t working and this showed up.
It pays to break the routine and just play.

I just hung this 36x36 inch painting titled "On the Edge of Letting Go" at The Look Up Gallery, and it can be displayed any way. Curious — which orientation would you choose?
