Today was only the second time in my life that someone has pulled a gun and pointed it directly at me.

I was riding with my two children my youngest son was driving, and my daughter was in the back seat. We were simply driving down the road when an aggressive driver came up behind us, laying on his horn. He then pulled alongside us, swerved toward our vehicle, and tried to run us off the road.

I rolled down my window and told him to calm down and asked what he was doing. He was yelling and cursing uncontrollably. A moment later, he pulled up beside us again, got extremely close to our vehicle, pulled out a gun, and pointed it directly at my chest.

By the grace of God, nobody was hurt.

What stands out to me most isn’t the danger it’s what God has done in my heart. Years ago, I would have responded with anger. Today, I was completely calm. There was no panic, no rage, and no fear. I felt a peace that can only come from the Lord.

I’m incredibly thankful that my children are safe and that God protected us. Situations like this remind me how quickly life can change and how important it is to stay close to Him.

Thank You, Jesus, for Your protection, Your peace, and Your faithfulness. We made it home safely, and for that, I am grateful beyond words.

I’m 53 years old… and I feel like I’m finally becoming who I was always supposed to be.

It didn’t come easy.
Setbacks.
Divorce.
Addiction.
Trauma.

There were seasons I thought I was too far gone… too late… too behind to ever rebuild something meaningful.

But here’s what I’ve learned…

You are not disqualified.

Not by your past.
Not by your mistakes.
Not by the years you think you lost.

You can start again.
Right now.
Fresh.

There is still something inside of you worth chasing.
There is still a version of you waiting to be lived.

For me, that looks like making music again.
Creating again.
Dreaming again.

“20-Something” isn’t about going backwards…
It’s about reclaiming the part of you that never stopped believing.

If you’ve been holding back…
this is your reminder—

It’s not too late.

My buddy Mark, aka Double M, sent me this gem this morning.

Man… this has to be around 2002. Maybe 2003 if we were really pushing it.

Back when cameras had about three pixels, MySpace ruled the internet, and somehow we all thought whatever we were wearing in this photo was a good idea.

Also… look at us.
Zero back pain.
Full hairlines.
Unlimited energy.
Absolutely no clue what life was about to do to us.

Good times, man. Appreciate you sending this blast from the past, Double M. 😂
