🧱Can you spot the problem? 🤔 In Sheikh Ibn Uthaymin Sharh Aqeedah Al Waasitiya, he provided two definitions of AMAZEMENT as an attribute, he negates one and accepted the other, but the implication is that, AMAZEMENT ceases to be literal, for there is no literal amazement without surprise or awe, critics has deemed this kind of move as Taweel, even though they refuse to call it that. (This can also be observed on attributes like Nuzul/descent, Malal/boredom, Ghadab/anger, etc)

An Ashari can as well literally provide two definitions of yad or any other attributes, negating one and accepting the other, why can you do it and then criticise others, weird.

Do Salafis believe that God has literal emotions (anger, pleasure, etc)? It seems to be that they don't, yes they ascribe those emotions, but say that they are not reactionary, rather they are voluntary expressions of God's will.

Look at the following from ChatGPT;

See, notice in (1) & (2) how 'emotions' and 'response' are in double quotes, and how the expressions are 'not reactionary', now look at the definition of literal emotion from the same ChatGPT;

From all these we see that they are not ascribing literal emotions and are not different from those they charge as denying attributes, in fact ChatGPT came to the same conclusion and we end with this quote;

🧱🤦🏻‍♂️ Salafi tries to throw IT under the bus, he pulled out the "he's not massum" card, well, not on the issue of Hell, this is a pretty significant stance, foundational, and it is even worse when IT was just being consistent with his methodology and they are not.
