Well guys, the new video about Gould is finally out. I've had an extended back and forth with copyright holder and a lot of frustration with this one.

The usage of clips was fair, but the rights holder blocked the video in all countries (which is why some of you saw the video last week before it went away). Then I had to appeal twice at different levels, and they chose to let the full time expire (keeping the video blocked) until time expired on the claim, granting me rights to my video.

Anyways, it's a pain and one of the more discouraging things about YouTube content making. I'm considering making a video about it to give you guys some behind the scenes of the process and how I knew this case should be considered fair use (a lot of people claim fair use for EVERYTHING, but I tried to be really careful and it's a lot clearer if you see the appeals process).

Thanks for waiting for the video and go learn about the brilliance of Gould in the video! 🙂

I finally am getting free time to record more videos this weekend!!! Ya! I'm working on a couples of fun ones (Glenn Gound, chord analysis, and Liszt are all in the future) and I have a lot of editing to do still, but new things should be coming out soon.

Thanks for all the kind comments and support I've heard the last couple of weeks. Also thanks for watching old videos, the channel has gotten quite a few views even without me actively doing much on YouTube.

Hi everyone, I wanted to let you know there'll be a week or two break from videos. I had a death in the family and have been gone when I normally would record (the last video was recorded before the passing so I still put it out).

Anyways, just wanted you to know if you were wondering why I disappeared for a bit. The family member who passed was a great man, an amazing example and influence in my life. Just a good reminder to all of us to strive to leave behind something of true value, not just money, music, or anything else temporary. Seek the greater things!

Take care.

What do you guys think of a music theory livestream? Sort of like an "Ask Me Anything" theory video.

If you like the idea leave your theory questions below in the comments (it might be nice to have a few starter ones even if we take more during the video)

I'm feeling mostly better and hoping to record something new this weekend (and also put out an old video that I never finished before getting sick). I'm thinking about ranking the Chopin collections/sets, and maybe talking about my favorites from each one. Let me know if you have one in particular you want to make sure is included.

Preludes, Nocturnes, Waltzes, Polonaises, Mazurkas, Etudes, Ballades, Scherzos.

I'm on the line about Impromptus, Sonatas, and Concertos (are there enough of each to call them a collection...?)

Hi musician friends! I had a lot of plans to put out a video today and be recording the next one, but the flu really hit the family hard to start the year. Just wanted to let you all know more piano videos are coming once I start sleeping again 😴

Make a Beethoven video ✅️
Start a massive comment war about tempo in Beethoven ✅️

But in all seriousness, thanks to all the people who've watched, liked, and shared the new Beethoven video. Welcome to the channel if you're new!

🤣 Thanks for those who pointed out my accidental post earlier, hope you enjoyed listening to a little Boccherini minuet 🤣🤣🤣 Apparently all I have to do is accidentally hit stream in OBS and without even opening YouTube or setting up a Live event it just does it all automatically.

I'm very confused. I specifically don't have my YouTube linked to OBS to avoid this, but I guess the old stream key is still stored in OBS and by hitting "Stream" instead of "Record" (2 buttons next to each other) it made a whole event and bypassed the "Go Live" feature...hmm...must be a new settings changed somewhere.
