So I received quite a few harassment emails from a fan and I feel like I should state some things that should be quite obvious about this channel and how I act as a creator. I know I didn't even have to write this post or even publicly acknowledge the harasser, but there are things here that I've wanted to state for a while now.

This is my channel and I'll post whatever I want, whenever I want. I am not bound by my audience to create videos on specific characters and there is no schedule I follow when uploading. If you don't like that, you don't have to subscribe or follow my content. But just because I am a creator doesn't give anybody the right to tell me what to do next or when I should upload. Now sure, I did create the character submission form, but the whole reason behind that was to get an idea of what you guys would like to see next, not as a guarantee that I actually do a certain character.

And I get it, I know I'm not a perfect creator, and I know there's things I've promised in the past that I never quite followed up on. I know streaming on Twitch with a face cam is one of those things, though I just keep dodging that because I am self conscious about how I look in-person. I think everyone is to some extent in all honesty 😂

Though, my point here is that me not following through on every single idea I've talked about does not mean people are entitled to harass me over it. I am allowed to choose what I want to do. I am allowed to take my time. I am allowed to make videos in whichever order feels right to me. Sometimes I'll do a character because a lot of people requested them. Sometimes I'll do a character because I personally enjoy them. And sometimes I just won't do a character at all.

That is not me ignoring my audience. That is me being a human being with my own life who runs his own channel, not a content machine that exists to take orders. I seriously believe people should be treating creators with better respect these days.

Yo, I had a goofy ass idea as I was doomscrolling and I want your thoughts.

To the folks who use YouTube Shorts often, y'all notice those little Amazon product stickers that appear in some videos by other creators? What if I occasionally put one out of the way in the corner of my videos and used it as an extra hint? 👀

Not trying to become an ad channel, I just think it'd be hilarious if a completely random product was part of the guessing game.

I've seen some questions about why Onyx looks more Minecrafty in my latest video. One person mentioned I shot him out back, which is not what happened! He just shapeshifted 😭. For real, I do want to quickly explain why this change happened.

The biggest reason boils down to creative freedom. The blockier design is easier and more fun for me to animate, which means I can push scenes MUCH further and bring more personality into these videos. I realized just how fun animating a Minecraft character truly is compared to the original Onyx after creating "What if a Guitar Was Added to Minecraft?" and I knew I HAD to do more of it!

Not only that, but the Guess the Character series has always been about video games first and foremost, and having a character that better represents that space feels right for the direction I want to take it. For Guess the Animated Character videos, though (whenever I return to those), Onyx MIGHT return as well. We'll see what happens.

As for now, this new version of Onyx, Onyx Ore (yes, that's his name 😆), will now be the one performing the hints for videos!
