Welcome to our time machine! TopPop was the first regular dedicated pop music TV show in the Dutch language area. Founding father and director of the show was Rien van Wijk. Dutch broadcaster AVRO aired the program weekly, from 1970 to 1988. Presenter Ad Visser hosted the show for its first fifteen years. World famous music artists performed on TopPop: ABBA, 10CC, Bee Gees, The Jacksons, David Bowie, Earth & Fire, Boney M, Queen, Golden Earring, KC & The Sunshine Band, Chic and many more! This channel also includes video's from other legendary music programs like TROS Popformule, TROS Top 50 etc.

The devastating news has just reached us that our former Toppop presenter Bas Westerweel has suddenly passed away at the age of 62. Bas hosted Toppop from 1986 to 1988 and was the very last presenter of the program. Our heartfelt thoughts go out to his children, family members, and friends. Thank you for all your friendship and love of music, dear Bas. We will very much miss you.
