The 108 Peaks

🎉 Happy Birthday, Mannu! 🎉

Today we celebrate someone very special to The 108 Peaks.

Manoj is not only the co-founder of this project, but also one of its biggest inspirations. His love for the mountains, his knowledge of the Himalayas, and his passion for sharing these experiences with others are at the heart of everything we do.

This year, his birthday is a little different. For the past 14 days, he has been out on an expedition, with no internet and completely immersed in the mountains he loves so much. While being away from family and friends on a special day is never easy, we know there is no place he would rather be than surrounded by peaks, trails, and adventure.

We can’t wait to hear all the stories when he returns.

If you see him in the coming weeks, don’t forget to wish him a happy birthday! 🎂🏔️

From all of us at The 108 Peaks, thank you for your dedication, friendship, inspiration, and endless passion for the mountains.

Happy Birthday @uk_travel_tarzan_mountaineer ❤️

The 108 Peaks

Grateful to keep moving forward. ⛰️
Another year of support from Trek Kit India @trekkit.in thank you for trusting us and being part of our journey in the Himalayas.

With Mannu @uk_travel_tarzan_mountaineer leading our expeditions with experience, knowledge and a deep connection to the mountains.

We’re truly happy to receive this gear. We love Rab, technical, durable and made for demanding environments. Exactly what we need.

Because we don’t look for easy treks… 😜 We seek challenges, high passes and remote places to explore.

And having the right equipment makes all the difference.

Thank you for being part of the journey. 🔥

The 108 Peaks

Today we visited Kasar Devi Temple, a small and simple temple in the Upper Kumaon region, yet one with a story and an energy that make it truly unique.

This place is located in an area with real geomagnetic anomalies, associated with the Van Allen Belt, a phenomenon that drew the attention of scientists and researchers back in the 1960s. Many people say it’s easier here to enter states of deep calm, meditation, and mental clarity.

For this reason, Kasar Devi is often mentioned as one of the most energetic places in the world, alongside iconic sites such as Machu Picchu, Stonehenge, and Sedona. There is no official scientific ranking, but there is a shared experience among travelers, meditators, and seekers from all over the world.

It’s not a temple that impresses by its size or grandeur, but something shifts when you’re here. And that… is not always meant to be explained, sometimes it’s simply meant to be felt. 🕉️✨

The 108 Peaks

Today we visited Jageshwar Dham, and it really stayed with us ✨
Riding there by motorbike, through this beautiful cedar forest, already feels special. The road is quiet, green, almost silent… and then, without much warning, the temples appear, right in the middle of the forest.

Jageshwar is not just one temple, but a complex of more than 100 stone temples, built between the 9th and 13th centuries. They are dedicated to Shiva, one of the main deities in Hinduism, and the site is especially important within the Shaivite tradition.

It’s not a big or spectacular temple like many others in India, but so far it’s the one that has resonated with me the most. It’s curious. Maybe it’s the surroundings, the calm, or simply the way everything feels slower here.

Located at around 1,800 meters above sea level, Jageshwar is still an active place of worship today, surrounded by nature and far from mass tourism.

The 108 Peaks

Five peaks. One horizon.
Panchachuli is one of those mountain ranges you don’t just see, you stay with it.

From Munsiyari, the five summits stand there, massive and silent, each with its own shape and altitude. Together, they feel like a single presence watching over the valley.

In recent months, the trek to Point Zero, where the Panchachuli Glacier begins, has become more popular. It’s easy to understand why, the place is raw, powerful, unforgettable.

We can only hope this growing interest comes with care.
That this valley, its silence and its fragile landscapes remain as intact as they feel today.

Wild, remote, and far from busy routes, this part of the Kumaon Himalaya reminds us that some places don’t need to be changed, only respected.🙏🏼

The 108 Peaks

These days we’ve been working a lot, and we’ve been less present on Instagram than we’d like to be.

We’re starting the year as entrepreneurs, something I never imagined for myself. And even less so in a country so far from home.

But maybe that’s already a sign.
Somehow, this place has become home.
Yes, I feel at home.

Honestly, I don’t always feel like we have all the skills to manage something this big. But at the same time, I deeply feel the desire to care for and nurture this seed we’re planting.

The desire to share the Himalaya mountains and Indian culture from a place of awareness 🤍 an awareness that, in many ways, reached us through Yoga.
The desire to show you this magical place, not in a touristic way, but in an immersive one. Caring for every detail, both for those who come as visitors and for those who welcome us here.

When you come here, to India, to the mountains, I feel like you’re coming home.
And it makes me incredibly happy to welcome you with open arms. To help you feel safe, at home without being at home. To understand the culture and history not as books tell it, but as it is lived here.

That’s why I know this will work. 🤍🏔️

The 108 Peaks

Some moments from our Brahmatal Trek adventure ✨

This time, we had the pleasure of hiking with Núria @nuuri_cp from Tremp and Noèlia @noerr9 from Cervera, who came all the way to Lohajung, trusting us to guide them through one of the most beautiful winter routes in the Indian Himalaya.

Over 6 days together, we shared mountain life at a slow and meaningful pace: 3 days trekking through forests and open ridgelines, and one day discovering the village of Bank, connecting with local culture, daily life, and the people who call these mountains home.

The Brahmatal Trek gifted us unforgettable views of Mount Trishul and Mount Nanda Ghunti, standing tall and silent above the trail, reminding us once again why this region holds such a special place in our hearts. Walking beneath these giants is something that never gets old.

Moments like these are the reason we created @the108peaks : to share the Himalaya beyond the summits, its landscapes, its culture, its rhythm, and the deep connection that grows when you walk together through the mountains. ✨

If you ever feel the call of the Indian Himalaya, we’ll be here, ready to walk with you. 💛🏔️

The 108 Peaks

Some moments from this week’s adventure on the Ali Bedni Bugyal Trek ✨

This time we had the joy of hiking with Clàudia and Xavi from Cardona, @claudiacanal_ @xavivilal , sharing with them one of the places we love the most: the alpine meadows of the Indian Himalaya.
There’s something magnetic about Ali & Bedni Bugyal, the quiet forests, the golden grasslands, and the feeling of walking towards the sky while Mount Trishul and Mount Nanda Ghunti rise right in front of you. Two giants that, for us, already feel like home. 🏔️

We spent 4 full days on the trail and 7 days immersed in mountain life, waking up above the clouds, laughing around the campsite, and watching the peaks change colours with every sunrise. These are the moments that remind us why we started @the108peaks to share the real Himalaya: its silence, its people, its energy… and the magic that happens when you walk through it.

If one day you feel the call of these mountains, we’re right here, ready to guide you through the places that inspire us every day. 💛✨
