(SPOILER ALERT! PLEASE WATCH THE EPISODE FIRST BEFORE READING THIS POST)
I watched the recent episode of the DEATH BATTLE: Sentry VS Superboy Prime (Marvel VS DC) and here’s my thoughts of it.
If anything, this is my new favorite Marvel VS DC and this season (at least for now). After how Winter Soldier VS Red Hood,Cable VS Booster Gold, Scarlet Witch VS Zatanna, and Martian Manhunter VS Silver Surfer can able to show to how make a great episode with characters have advantages that can either stomp or match each other, this episode is literally those episodes but combined from analysis and the animation.
I like Sentry and Prime Analysis. Sentry analysis I would consider matching of how both Silver Surfer’s and Hulk (from Hulk VS Godzilla) gave him a deeper dive to his history and actually telling how the Void basically ruined Sentry life. Even have the balls to tell and show us how Sentry life is completely shit as no matter what he do to either end or stop it like erasing people's memories just have him getting the Void to get to him. I like how Sentry part ends with him while he is gone as he completely merged with Void, but he isn’t forgotten.
Superboy-Prime analysis is even better as this analysis is (to me) a do-over of Deadpool analysis from previous episodes, but human. His analysis is quite impressive that this episode actually made Prime's story from near the end of Infinite Crisis and Countdown to Final Crisis look pretty cool rather than overbearingly annoying. And I do like the contrast of how he wanted to fly, being feared by his family and his girlfriend, to becoming an hero (sort of) that actually helped to stop the Darkest Knight. This analysis gave me a lot of Reverse Flash analysis vibes as they almost sounded similar to each other.
The fight… This fight is insane of comic reference and a scarier representation of the Void that is; somehow, more scary than how Thunderbolts made him out to be. The sprite and hand-drawn animation is so good and I do appreciate they made this fight both serious and; in times, meta-commentary via Prime.
Speaking of which, I have to give props to the VAs. While Philip Sacramento record of “Voice Actor Who Playing the Character to Lose” did a pretty good performance as Sentry and the Void. When as Sentry, Philip portrayal as him is more serious and calm, and when he acted that Void is coming, he acts more worried, scared, and felt tortured due to the connection with it. But when Philip portrays as The Void, it’s at same levels of both menacing and scary in the comics and even showing more chaotic menacing in the climax.
But Sean Chiplock's portrayal as Superboy-Prime is the best part of the fight. He goes off as a total asshole and arrogant to the point he ACTUALLY pretty good. Similarly towards Valentine Stokes portrayal as Reverse Flash as both characters are fanboy assholes, but god I absolutely love their performance. And hey, unlike Deadpool when he keep using the fourth wall for jokes for his episodes with Pinkie & Mask, Prime actually did it better to make references, tease the audience, and right at the end of the episode; debunk the process of the analysis even though he won.
And the ending was pretty surprising too. I was surprised that in many outcomes this fight would end, this was a surprisingly wholesome ending: Prime giving Robert a Happy Ending by Retcon Punch the Void out of existence. While it’s… might be a little out-of-character for Prime, but given how latest comics surround Prime and his; sort of, redemption arc, I think it’s a fair ending given how much crap Sentry been going through.
As for negatives, I don’t have anything to say about this episode. I would say my nitpick that I felt the middle of climax felt too fast pace as I don’t get see enough of the void showing more of his abilities and we don’t get to see of Prime’s fear scene like how we get to see both Yelena and U.S. Agent nightmares. But again, this is just a nitpick.
Overall, this episode is my personal favorite MARVEL VS DC episode of the show and (for now) my new number one favorite of this season so far. In this week’s episode of DEATH BATTLE, this one isn’t the one to avoid and watch at its prime.

As you know, I have been struggling to do what I should be doing in my life right now. I have been burnt out as there so things in my personal life from finding a job to school.
And so, I have no choice, I have to end Deadly Duels Rebirth.
It sucks as I wanted to continue the show as I grow up. But, I realized I just can’t move forward as I have been struggling in making my videos without any interference. I am sorry.
But with that said, I have some announcements to make.
For one, I will upload the animations by @MouzoAnimations as I do believe they deserve to be seen in the public and I can’t waste it. As I would still make videos, but it’s just either reviews or fan-made trailers. I will be doing some posts and shorts.
As well, I am looking forward to do some other works like my own written stories. Like say rewrites of franchise media to doing some fan made episode scripts of versus shows like FCC and DEATH BATTLE at some point.
I just want to say thank you all for support and Deadly Duels itself. But, as time pass, I think it’s time to put it down for go due to stresses and other personal issues I am going through.

Personally, I am getting tired of anime episodes right now of DEATH BATTLE and I would get a break from them. And to my surprise, this episode is definitely very good. Not as compare to both Ichigo VS Yusuke or Cell VS Metal Sonic, but this episode is a refreshing after last two before this one.
Yuji and Denji analysis are great, respectively. I do like how both of their pre-anaylsis is showing us from how they are started what were their original goals were before during mid of their stories given a heavy turned which both are forced or chosen to be different people as opposed to what they were in beginning of the story. Though, in compare their endings, Yuji seems more happy while Denji is sad but simple and good enough. Which implies in this episode.
Considering our last Chainsaw Man episode was very Mediocre to Okay, this episode is miles improvement.
The animation though, yeah this is a massive improvement from Gru VS Megamind. If Ichigo VS Yusuke fight is representation of how the 1990s anime fight is like, than Yuji VS Denji is the representation of modern anime. This animation fight is slick as hell, both VA of Yuji and Denji, respectively are great, and overall presentation of the fight choreography is good.
Any faults I have to say is that some movements of the models in some of the scenes feel really stiffed and for a fight that have two animes known their bloody fights (And compare to Gojo VS Makima) really lacks of the blood and gore known in Chainsaw Man.
And analysis I thought it was fine. I feel like its just a decent analysis and I just think its good, consider I don’t really watch lot of their animes or read their manga.
Overall, Yuji VS Denji is a improvement from last two both animation and writing wise. Even though this doesn’t make it to my number one of this so far (Ichigo VS Yusuke is currently my number one), but this is one episode that definitely cut above the rest easily makes in my two top (Until another episode takes it place)
Hot Take: I don’t like both Kamen Rider Zeztz & Super Shrieff Gavan: Infinity.
Kamen Rider Zeztz - I find the premise to be very boring and not interesting from the dream concept (which in fairness, can work) being hit or mess time to time and story does not really not at all good nor interesting to watch it. I know the season; from I heard, does shown have good episodes, but I have no motivation to watch it.
Space Shrieff Gavan: Infinity - At one hand, the idea of a revival show of the Metal Heroes franchise is not bad… but the execution isn’t great. Having a multiverse story is fine, but not as the first season of a show. To me, the multiverse Gavan is a bad idea and does ruin; for me, to give us a different take of Gavan. But instead, it’s Super Sentai with Metal Heroes on it.

Hey guys.
This is serious post so please read this and please what I am getting at.
As you know, I have been struggling to do what I should be doing in my life right now. I have been burnt out as there so things in my personal life from finding a job to school.

2026 DEATH BATTLE Review Post: Yuji VS Denji
