Hey everyone

From tomorrow I’m spending the whole week talking about the state of Chelsea, where we’re going wrong, what change we need to see, blue co and the future I want to see

So many layers play equal parts in contributing to the current mess we find ourselves in, I’ve been writing and formulating my thoughts throughout last week, I feel like these videos can’t be fresh
Off the dome takes, there needs to be some serious, considered conversation

I’m not making this to prove im right and no best, but im hoping they can contribute to deeper debate and conversations

Some people may feel that ive not been vocal enough, ive just needed time to think things through.

I need to say this clearly.

Being against the current Chelsea hierarchy does not mean I have to stop my analysis at “BlueCo out” and pretend that’s depth.

I’m not against calling BlueCo out. I’m against acting like that slogan, by itself, explains anything.

BlueCo is the ownership shell. You can clearly see the multi-club investment model at Strasbourg. But at Chelsea, the real damage comes through the football structure BlueCo/Clearlake put in place, the people empowered to make these decisions, and the complete lack of accountability when they fail.

So when I name the directors and Behdad Eghbali directly, how does that make me a sell-out? That is literally more specific criticism, not less.

My issue is simple: placeholder slogans can dilute protest. They can blur the focus away from the actual decision-makers and make people feel like they’ve said something meaningful when they’ve only said something broad.

And this is the part I keep coming back to: what do people realistically think happens next? Reporting around the takeover said there were decade-long commitments around control and extraction, put in place by Abramovich and Sky & other outlets reported Clearlake had no intention of selling its stake. Could there be some possible secret exit clauses? Maybe, it’s not been made public, but, that’s logically unlikely due to the commitment in the sale contract being legally enforceable.

As I’ve said before the best bet you could hope for would be for an internal take overs, new investors, etc. Atm Clearlake capital hold 61.5% of shares and have said they don’t want to give up control.

So if “BlueCo out” is the demand, what is the actual pathway? Who is buying? What ownership model are you asking for? What changes the next day?

Because if the answer is just “someone better appears,” that isn’t strategy. That’s hope.

So I’ll ask again: if you want ownership change, what exactly do you want to replace this with? Who do you trust? What structure do you want? What is the mechanism?

If your protest cannot explain what change actually looks like, it risks becoming performance rather than pressure. If you’re angry at the ownership model, say BlueCo. If you’re angry at who actually controls Chelsea, say Clearlake and Eghbali.
