Africa is a diverse continent with over a billion people in 54 countries and around 3,000 tribes. The 10 largest tribes by population in Africa are: the

**Hausa**
**Igbo**
**Yoruba**
**Amazigh**
**Oromo**
**Amhara**
**Fulani**
**Akan**
**Somali**
**Hutu**

The Hausa tribe is the largest with an estimated population of 78 million people. The Igbo and Yoruba tribes follow with populations of 45 million and 47 million people respectively. The Oromo tribe has a population of around 40 million people.

Each tribe has its own unique language, culture, and history. For example, the Hutu tribe speaks Rwanda-Rundi, a Bantu language shared with the Tutsi and Twa tribes. The Somali tribe speaks Somali, a Cushitic language with around 12.5 million speakers worldwide.
