happy pride month. we've watched a few documentaries so far this month and i wanted to share them here because they have all been exceptional and perfect for learning more or sharing with others during pride and all throughout the year.

the reason there are months that acknowledge different groups is that those groups were not routinely included in media, celebrations, and other common customs. because the "default" was heterosexual. but actually, that's the wrong way to look at it.

what if being straight isn't the "norm"? what if there actually are no "norms"? because trans people have existed since humans did, but hate and fear drove them into hiding.

how dare anyone make anyone afraid of simply being themselves.

and they don't want your children. no one does. but please raise them without hate for others, simply because they are being themselves.

and i can tell none of y'all been in a school or helped with homework lately because i know there is simply no time for "indoctrination" and how dare you try to shame teaching that PEOPLE EXIST.

commit to be less hateful this june. enjoy the movies.
