Welcome to We Got Some Live Action, a fishing VLOG powered by stoke, joy, and real outdoor adventure. Our goal is to inspire this generation to get outside, try something new, and motivate the next generation to harvest from the land and sea with respect and skill. Join us as we explore Southern California fishing, chasing the tuna, yellowtail, halibut, calico bass, and various surf species across Socal waters, surf zones, rocky coastlines, piers, and offshore deep-sea locations. Expect fishing tips, rigs, gear reviews, catch-and-cook episodes, coastal exploration, ocean safety, and sustainable harvesting knowledge. We create fishing content for beginners, experienced anglers, and anyone who loves the ocean lifestyle. Our mission is to build a positive Fishing Community centered around learning, adventure, and sharing the stoke that comes from exploring the outdoors. Thank you for riding with us—your support keeps this journey alive. ONE LOVE, PEACE, and blessings! 🎣🤙💓
We Got Some Live Action
There’s something sacred about watching your kids fall in love with the ocean. 🌊
Out there, with sand on their feet and salt in the air, the noise of the world fades. The tides teach patience. The wind teaches resilience. The waves remind us that no matter how hard life hits, we can always rise again.
Passing on a love for the ocean isn’t just about fishing or beach days — it’s about teaching them where to go when life feels heavy. It’s about showing them that nature heals, that peace can be found in the sound of crashing waves, and that clarity often comes when you step away from the chaos.
When life gets difficult, I want them to seek the shoreline. To find strength in the horizon. To remember that the world is bigger than their worries.
Instilling an adventurous spirit and a deep love for nature in my kids is one of the most soul-fulfilling journeys I’ll ever take. These moments — exploring tide pools, casting lines, chasing sunsets — they’re building something deeper than memories. They’re building character. Perspective. Gratitude.
If I can teach them anything for adulthood, it’s this:
Go outside. Trust Nature. Protect it. And always come back to the ocean when you need to reset your soul.
The greatest legacy we can leave isn’t success — it’s wonder, curiosity, and a spirit of exploration. 🌅

Our recent loss in the fishing community hit me deeply for many reasons. The first was Mikey's infectious enthusiasm. @SDFishandSips had the kind of energy that lit up every moment on the water. But on an even deeper level, I realized something personal. I tried to be him. I wanted to live the way he lived, but I couldn’t always break through my own mental barriers.
Mikey, though… he shattered every barrier as if they didn’t exist.
The blessing in all of this is the reminder he leaves us: to live boldly through his example and make the absolute most of the time we have. He’s left behind a lifetime of content that will continue to inspire us and push us forward whenever we doubt ourselves.
Rest easy, Mikey — and thank you for the impact you made on all of us. 💓🤙🙏🎣

Mikey from @SDFishandSips will always be a true SD legend. He demonstrated courage never witnessed before with a passion that ignited all of us anglers. The comfort I find in this moment is Socrates apology. A man's worth is not determined by the length of his years but by the quality of his years. Mikey lived life to the extreme fullest and passed away doing what he loved. ❤️🤙🙏 Your passion and joy will be missed. 😔
