​भारत 140 करोड़ लोगों का देश है। हालांकि हम दुनिया की सबसे तेजी से बढ़ती अर्थव्यवस्था हैं, फिर भी हमारे लाखों नागरिक अपने बच्चों की स्कूली शिक्षा या जीवन रक्षक सर्जरी के लिए संघर्ष कर रहे हैं। एक मेडिकल इमरजेंसी किसी भी मध्यम वर्गीय परिवार को गरीबी के दलदल में धकेल सकती है।
