I almost did.
All it took was putting my house into a trust. Ownership changed on paper, and I had to reapply just to keep my exemption.
Had to:
– Restate my trust
– Get it notarized
– Go back to the appraisal district
Nothing changed in my life… but everything changed on paper.
With exemptions now over $100K, this is not a small mistake.
