🎂 HAPPY 95TH BIRTHDAY, MARLA GIBBS

Before she became Florence Johnston on The Jeffersons and Mary Jenkins on 227, Marla Gibbs was working a regular job and raising a family.

Then, in her 40s, everything changed.

Her portrayal of Florence helped make The Jeffersons one of television's most beloved sitcoms, while 227 established her as one of the most recognizable stars of the 1980s.

Nearly five decades later, Marla Gibbs remains a symbol of talent, perseverance, and timeless comedy.

Today, RET-TV celebrates a true television legend.

❤️ Happy 95th Birthday, Marla Gibbs!

RET TV remembers Ronnie Schell.

Many fans knew him as Duke Slater on Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C., but Ronnie's career stretched far beyond a single role.

From the San Francisco comedy clubs of the 1950s to nearly 150 television and film credits, Schell became one of those familiar faces who could make any show better simply by showing up.

A fun piece of television history: in the early 1970s, a 12-year-old Michael Jackson was asked to name his favorite comedian.

His answer: Ronnie Schell.

Thank you for the laughs, the memories, and a remarkable career.

❤️ Ronnie Schell

More than 400,000 people have watched Firestorm: 72 Hours in Oakland on our channel, and one theme keeps showing up in the comments:

"I thought I was prepared."

"I never realized how fast it happened."

"What would I do if I only had 30 minutes?"

The 1991 Oakland Firestorm wasn't just a wildfire. It was a wake-up call.

Thousands of families had minutes to make decisions that would affect the rest of their lives.

🔥 One lesson from this film is simple: preparation matters.

After seeing the impact this film continues to have on our audience, we decided to connect with a wildfire preparedness company whose approach impressed us. They were equally impressed by the response this film has received and decided to offer RET TV viewers 50% off.
