Just get started! THROW the paint on the canvas!!!
A couple days ago I was feeling nervous to start filming the second season of my series, but wondered why because I absolutely adore getting to make the episodes.
Upon reflection, I realized it was because it felt a bit unknown to me. I’ve done it before, but it’s been almost two years and certain things are changing as we’re leveling up. That potential was daunting to me.
If you, too, are a creative or a trailblazer who’s feeling nervous to get started because you haven’t done it before, you’re scared it won’t be perfect, or just because it feels so intimidating, try an artist’s hack: Throw some paint on the blank canvas!
Press record on that first clip, even if there’s a blooper; write that first sentence, you can always edit later; toss some flour in the bowl! It doesn’t matter the color or utensil, just get it on there. Once you get started, mess it up a little bit, you won’t feel as nervous to continue because you’re building on something—even if that something isn’t perfect.
Instead of looking at the grand picture all at once, just take that first small step. ONE splatter of paint!
“Mess up that white canvas so you can get started making your art!” 🖌️

I directed the pilot episode of this warmhearted yet rebellious Breakfast Club-inspired show. Watch how these VERY different students survive an unexpectedly plotted Afterschool detention…

Take me back to the City of Angels 🏞️🎥✨
Los Angeles stole my heart fr. From unforgettable moments with my favorite people to exploring some of the coolest spots ever, this trip was everything and more.
I learned so much, laughed even more, and honestly didn’t want to leave. So grateful for every second—hope future classes get to experience the same magic. Love you forever, film crew 🎬💛

One year ago I made my first mini-movie: A Spark of Christmas. And now, I’m in post-production for my senior thesis film! It’s been a wild and unexpected journey, but the holiday season always reminds me of how much I love making these kinds of creative memories, and the ones who support me in making them. I can’t wait to see what’s next. Thank you all and have a merry Christmas! 🎄
