For the 28th edition of the House Blend (now undergoing a title review, with Coffee Jazz the likely winner), the Club returned to basics. For your enjoyment, this mix captures some of the best qualities of acoustic instrumental jazz: piano, trumpet, saxophone, upright bass, drums. Straight modern jazz (with the Club's usual twist – like the garnish on a martini). Enjoy.

Tristan and Iseult is a 12th century Romance best known in the form of Wagner's opera, Tristan und Isolde. The Club got the idea of doing something romantic, and, having the kind of mind the Club has, it had to be tragic. And why not begin at the beginning? This is the romance that defines Romance. It's a mix that makes no attempt to emulate Wagner. What it does try to do is establish a Leitmotif in the first prelude, and carry it through to the end. A bit ambitious for the Club. What do you think of the result? I hope you enjoy it. Thanks for listening.

Rainy Day Jazz mixes are a thing on YouTube. The Club has never done one before. Or, at least, not one that was marketed as one. Here it is. For those of you who enjoy some tranquil jazz on a truly rainy day, or a day that just feels like one. I hope you enjoy this relatively rare "ambient" jazz mix. Thanks for listening.

This is maybe the fourth African mix (not counting the North-African mixes, which are more Arabic in nature). I like it the best. The first mix continues to appeal. This one has legs. Let me know what you think. Did this mix hit the African-Jazz mark? I hope you enjoy it. Thanks for listening.

This mix is a deeper exploration into what is called Acid Jazz than a few of the earlier mixes. Like everything Magie Noir, it's not exactly true to its name (and was never intended to be – what's the fun in that?). But having lived in London, it felt pretty close to the real deal, at least atmosphere-wise. Where's the love?

This mix was a real exploration of instrumentation, combining violins and cellos with a variety of stringed instruments from all over the world. A timeless aspect emerged: an unforced blend of different cultures that produced this playlist of unlabelable sounds. Call it (Club Magie) Noir Jazz. Or can you put a label on it? Thanks for listening.

Club Magie Noir now has over 30,000 subscribers! The human behind this wishes to thank you. When I launched the channel (with only a vague idea of what I was getting myself into), I never imagined reaching this milestone. Thank you for being a part of it. I am immensely grateful to have so many loyal and interested listeners. Thank you.

Club Magie Noir went through a kind of re-branding over the last couple of weeks. Big changes to the visuals and a lot of ugly backroom work. I would love to get your thoughts on the changes. Thanks for playing.
