One Day More Aboard
We sold up and bought a narrowboat! After living in Texas for 10 years, we sold almost everything and moved back home to England to live on a narrowboat and cruise the canals of the UK with our westies, exploring so much of our country that we have never seen before. We followed the build of our brand new narrowboat virtually with the amazing guys at Russell Narrowboats, and only got to see her for the first time 2 weeks before we launched in September 2021! We took a leap of faith and it's working out beautifully!

Hello Refleks diesel stove, goodbye Morso Squirrel multifuel stove! 👋🔥
After weighing up all the pros and cons, we finally decided to make the switch, and installation day arrived right in the middle of a heatwave! We gave the new stove a quick test run to learn how to light it, look after it, and make sure everything was working perfectly, before turning it straight back off again! We are so happy with our choice of finish and love how the copper looks against the brick fireplace.
A huge thank you to Lockgate Stoves for such a professional installation. They made working in such a small space look easy, and everything was left spotless afterwards. Poppy, of course, took her supervisory role very seriously and kept a close eye on proceedings.
Now all we need is some colder weather to really enjoy the benefits, although we’re in no rush for that just yet! 😊

Well that was a rough couple of weeks! We have both been totally floored by bronchitis and felt very sorry for ourselves, but now we are almost back to normal and very thankful! Normal service will be resumed 😂

Happy 4th of July to all of our wonderful viewers and friends across the pond!
We loved celebrating when we were living in Friendswood, Texas. The whole town turns out for the Friendswood parade, running since 1895. It’s one of the longest standing 4th of July celebrations in the country that kept going even through WWII 🇺🇸🎆

A little update!
The next video in our River Thames series is running a little behind schedule. Unfortunately, I’ve come down with bronchitis and currently croaking and wheezing, so recording the voiceover to finish it off isn’t happening!
I did suggest that Pete step in and do the narration instead, but he has firmly refused… 😂
The good news is the next episode includes our favourite sign on the whole waterways network, which you’ll find at Abingdon Lock. It made us laugh, and it’s so relevant when you know that Pete is King of the Roasts!
So please bear with us for a few more days while I get my voice back. Thanks for your patience and for following along with our Thames adventure 😊

So happy to be back cruising with @NarrowboatLifeUnlocked for a few weeks! Our boats parted ways way back in September 2023 and we were determined to make it happen again when they came down south for the Crick Boat Show.
