Here I "tinker" with things, mainly electronics and computers. You will see repairs, reviews and anything that arrives on my bench! Happy watching and thanks for visiting!!
You might have noticed that I haven't published a video in a while. This was a planned delay as I am busy with work until the end of January. I plan to resume with videos in February. In fact, I have already half-edited the next video (see thumbnail below, an Onkyo 806 VERY COOL to repair) but I won't be able to finish the repair before the end of the month.
And yes, the Thumbnail assumes I will be able to fully fix the Onkyo, I am being optimistic as it's still only half-fixed! :D
Plenty of projects in the pipeline, it's just lack of time.
Hope to see you soon, wishing you all a great day!
Forget about "rejuvenating" CRT tubes, that's a hit and miss process, often providing short-lived improvements. We can now REPLACE THE GUN of a CRT. That's it, someone can OPEN the CRT and replace the electronic gun inside. How cool is that???
@bitsundbolts has been working on an amazing project involving RAM upgrades for old Creative AWE sound cards! Take a look at the progress, it's honestly mind-blowing
I've been complaining to Topdon a few times urging them to fix the Thermal camera Windows software I use with my TS001 which has a big issue: the temperature fonts used are very small on a high DPI screen. To the point where the temps are unreadable. Today I've finally received a BETA version of the new software. It appears to have been fully re-designed (why!). Now the temperature font is VERY big but still cannot be changed and doesn't have a border so when the background is the same colour of the text, it's still not very readable. Plus, I see quite a few important drawbacks - so I reported back to them and fingers crossed.
In the Tinkering spirit, I decided to re-paste my Laptop and went for the latest and greatest "Duronaut". Was it worth? Check out my new video on my second channel! 👍
I've created a space on GitHub - to share files and documents when needed. As a start, I've made a document on how to adjust the Genelec 1037A repaired in a recent video.
