What a weekend. 💛
Saturday was the good kind of busy. I hosted my second Sip & Paint with my mother-in-love. This one was even better than the first. 🎨 Why? Because this time I got to invite my friends. Seeing all my people in one room had me grinning ear to ear.
Saturday reminded me of something: sometimes we give out more than we receive and that's okay. Because the truth is, we receive when we give. My heart was so full watching my family, my friends, and my colleagues show up and pour in. It only makes me want to give that much more. 💫
But here's the part I'm learning to honor too: after pouring out all day Saturday, I gave myself permission to slow all the way down on Sunday. No rushing, no big plans — I painted my own painting, I cleaned up, I took my time. A soft, quiet day that was just for me. 🕊️ (That painting up there? That's my Sunday. 🎨)
Because pouring out is beautiful… but so is filling back up.
And honestly, that's the whole heart of my newest podcast episode 🎙️
"Motherhood, The Otherhood & Everything In Between" ft. Charlyne McWilliams.
We get into ALL of it — motherhood, the otherhood, and every beautiful space in between. Whether you're raising babies, pouring into people who aren't your own, still on your own journey, or somewhere you can't quite name yet… you belong in this conversation. We talk about accepting who you are and how to show up for yourself AND your family — without losing yourself in the process.

Sharing a few moments from both days below — the Sip & Paint joy and my slow little Sunday. 📸 Come sit with me a while. I think this one's going to meet somebody right where they are. 🥰

250 beautiful souls have joined this little corner of the internet, and my heart is so full. 💛
And honestly… I’m really proud of that.
Because this journey has reminded me how important it is to keep showing up for what you believe in—even when it feels small, even when you question yourself, and even when the internet tells you everything you “should” be doing differently.
I truly believed there was still a need for positive content. Encouraging content. Motivational content. Funny content. Real content.
The world is heavy enough already. I wanted to be a light.
And yes… after almost every upload, I check the YouTube “vibe check” 😂 and it usually tells me all the things I could’ve done better. Sometimes I can tweak things. Other times? The video is already what it is. Unfiltered. Honest. Human.
I don’t have all the fancy cuts, jumping edits, or constant chaos on the screen. That’s just not the energy I want to create.
This space is intentional. Calm. Thoughtful. Real.
Because honestly? I’ve already lived through enough of the fast-moving pressure, noise, burnout, and feeling like I had to constantly perform or keep up.
So if you’ve subscribed, watched, commented, laughed with me, listened to my random thoughts, or found comfort in this space… thank you. Truly. 💗
We’re only at 250 right now, but this feels like the beginning of something meaningful.

I just wanted to share a quick reflection this morning.
Even if you didn’t receive a whole bunch of Mother’s Day gifts, flowers, or accolades, please know this: God sees you.
Maybe you’re a single mom carrying the whole load. Maybe you’re a married mom carrying more than your share because your spouse is not physically able, emotionally able, or simply does not know how to support in the way you need.
But God sees your sacrifice.
He sees the prayers you keep praying, the dreams you keep delaying, the things you keep putting on hold because you want the best for your family.
He sees every tear. He is binding up every wound and every hurt that has come along this journey of motherhood.
And if you are caring for someone else’s child, that is an even bigger blessing.
So today, I just want to remind you:
You are special.
You are worthy.
You are loved.
You are cared for.
And you’ve got this. 💛

Mother’s Day weekend honestly filled my heart in such a beautiful way. 🌹
Last year, I wrote an article called The 3 Cs of Motherhood No One Tells You About — cooking, cleaning, and crying because motherhood is beautiful, but it can also be exhausting, emotional, and overwhelming in ways people do not always talk about.
But this weekend reminded me of the other side of motherhood too.
The laughter at the cookout. Walking through the farmers market with different generations of women. Watching mothers, daughters, aunties, and family simply enjoy each other. Good food, sunshine, conversations, plants, hugs, and little moments that quietly refill your spirit.
It reminded me that self-care is not selfish. It is necessary.
Sometimes caring for yourself looks like slowing down.
Sometimes it looks like community.
Sometimes it looks like saying yes to joy.
I just wanted to share this reminder with anyone who may be tired, overwhelmed, or carrying a lot right now:
You deserve care too. 💛
And if nobody told you lately, you are doing better than you think you are.
I’m sharing my article again because maybe another mom, caregiver, woman, or even daughter needs these words today.

These photos are from a day spent with my oldest daughter Dominique, my sister, and my nephew Shiloh — walking around a beautiful college campus, watching Shiloh play soccer, and ending the day playing tennis and basketball in the sunshine.
It reminded me that planning joy is self-care too.
Sometimes we think moments like this are supposed to just happen, but I’m learning we have to intentionally make room for the things that support our mental health.
Connection.
Laughter.
Movement.
Sunlight.
Play.
Family.
No pressure.
No scorekeeping.
Just presence.
Mental health is not only about resting after burnout. It’s also about creating moments that help us feel alive before we get there. 🌹

My daughter just turned 31 🎂 and we spent her birthday doing something I love — reflecting.
Not on what she didn’t accomplish. Not on what could have gone differently. But on what she learned, what she’s proud of, and what she’s calling in for her next year. And watching her do that, intentionally, with joy, made me realize how far we’ve both come.
Because for a long time? Birthdays made me sad. I’d look back at everything I hadn’t done yet and miss the moment I was actually in. It took me until 48 to learn to celebrate where I am, not just where I’m going.
So in honor of her 31st, I’m resharing my full 48ish Life Lessons at 48 playlist because some of these lessons she needs right now, some she’ll need in 10 years, and some of them had her laughing out loud 😂
If you haven’t watched the full series yet, this is your sign. 3 episodes. 48 lessons. All unfiltered. 🎙️
👉 Watch the full playlist here: youtube.com/playlist?list=PLa...
💬 Tell me in the comments: What has been your favorite year and what’s one lesson your current age has taught you?
I read every single one. 💛

I just published a new Substack reflection: “You Weren’t Even Supposed to Be There: Letting Go of Life’s Side Quests.”
This one came from a beach reflection, a failed mic moment, and a deeper realization: not everything is a lesson, and not every detour is destiny.
Sometimes you have to ask yourself:
Is this my assignment… or am I carrying something I was never supposed to pick up?
Read the full post here:

And let me know: what side quest are you ready to release?

Happy Saturday, friends 🌿
Today I’m carrying gratitude. 🌊
Gratitude for my time at the beach, the quiet moments, the fresh air, and those peaceful ocean views that remind me to slow down and just breathe.
The sky.
The waves.
The stillness.
The reset.
Sometimes healing isn’t a big breakthrough , sometimes it’s simply choosing peace, being present, and appreciating what is.
The beach always reminds me that peace is still available… we just have to make space for it. 🫶🏾
What’s one word you’re carrying into this weekend?
Drop it below 👇🏾

Good morning 🌿
Just a gentle reminder as you start your day… there is beauty all around you.
Sometimes we’re so focused on what’s next, what’s not working, or what we still need to do, that we forget to pause and notice what’s already here.
Take a breath. Look around. Let today be a good day.
What’s something beautiful you can notice this morning?

Happy FriYay ☕✨
We made it to Friday. This week came with emotions, trials, lessons, and some goodness too. And by God’s grace, here you are.
Today’s goal is not to force, rush, or carry more than you need to. Today’s goal is peace. Protect your energy, move with intention, and give yourself credit for making it through this week. Sometimes that alone is the victory.
So take a breath, sip something good, and ease into your day with gratitude.
What is one word or one goal you’re carrying into today?
